Healthcare security is fundamentally about service. Patients, families, and staff need to feel safe and welcomed, and that experience starts at the door. The right officer in a hospital lobby or medical office entrance is calm, professional, and patient first. The wrong officer turns every visitor interaction into a confrontation. The difference is training and culture.

First Class Security protects hospitals, medical office buildings, urgent care centers, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis clinics, and senior living communities across Middle Tennessee. Our officers are trained on de escalation, HIPAA awareness, code response coordination, and the specific service expectations of healthcare environments.

What we protect against

Common Risks on These Properties

ER and lobby management

Emergency departments and high traffic lobbies need officers who manage waiting room dynamics, wayfinding, and escalations without being intimidating.

Workplace violence

Healthcare workers experience workplace violence at higher rates than nearly any other industry. Trained officers and clear escalation protocols protect both staff and patients.

Drug security and controlled substances

Pharmacies, anesthesia carts, and controlled substance storage require restricted access protocols and documented audit trails.

Infant and patient elopement

Maternity, dementia care, and behavioral health units have specific elopement risks. Officers are trained on the lockdown procedures specific to your facility.

After hours access

Medical office buildings and clinics empty at night but still need controlled access for staff and emergency response. Patrol or stationed coverage handles this.

Visitor screening

Verified visitor management at entrance points, including badge issuance and HIPAA compliant logging, protects both patients and staff.

Healthcare FAQ

Healthcare Security Questions

Are your officers HIPAA aware?

Yes. Officers assigned to healthcare facilities receive training on patient privacy expectations, including not discussing patients seen on shift, not photographing or recording patient areas, and proper handling of any documentation that may include protected health information.

Can you respond to behavioral health emergencies?

Our officers are trained in de escalation as a first response and coordinate with clinical staff and law enforcement as your facility protocols require. We work alongside your behavioral health team rather than in place of it.

Do you offer armed security for healthcare?

Selectively. Most healthcare environments are best served by trained unarmed officers because the customer service requirement is paramount. Armed coverage may be appropriate for specific risk profiles such as targeted threats or high incident emergency departments. We will recommend the right answer for your specific facility.

How do you coordinate with our existing security team?

Many of our healthcare clients have an in house security director or supervisor. We integrate our officers into your existing chain of command, follow your post orders, and report through your designated point of contact. Our supervisors are an addition to your team, not a replacement.
