Construction sites are open targets. Materials, tools, copper, equipment, and partially built structures sitting in an active build are worth real money to the right thief, and most sites are unattended for at least 12 hours of every 24. Add weather, hot work, and the constant flow of subcontractors and you have a security problem that does not fit a standard template.

First Class Security protects active builds, demolitions, and site staging for general contractors, developers, and project managers across Middle Tennessee. We pair mobile surveillance trailers on the perimeter with stationed or patrol officers on the active site, and we provide NFPA compliant firewatch when hot work or fire system impairments are part of the project.

What we protect against

Common Risks on These Properties

Copper, lumber, and material theft

Copper wire, lumber, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC components are the most common targets. Visible deterrence is the cheapest preventative.

Equipment and tool theft

Skid steers, generators, compressors, and high value tools are stolen overnight. Mobile surveillance with talk down catches most attempts in progress.

Subcontractor access verification

Active sites can have a dozen trades on site at once. Verifying who is supposed to be there and who is not is a real security function.

Vandalism and graffiti

Empty structures and partially built spaces attract tagging and damage. Patrol and surveillance discourage it before the paint comes out.

Hot work and firewatch compliance

Welding, cutting, and grinding require firewatch coverage by code. We deliver NFPA compliant officers on a schedule that matches your hot work permit.

Site safety incidents

Officers on site are often the first to notice unsafe conditions, slip and fall risks, and code issues. Documentation supports your insurance posture.

Construction FAQ

Construction Security Questions

Why use a surveillance trailer instead of just hiring a night watchman?

Cost and coverage. A mobile surveillance trailer covering a multi acre site does the deterrence work of two to three officers, runs autonomously on solar, and our monitoring center watches it live with talk down and patrol response. For most overnight construction coverage scenarios, a trailer plus shared patrol is the right answer for the budget.

Can you deploy on short notice if we have an incident?

Yes. For mobile surveillance, a trailer can typically be deployed within a few business days. For officer coverage, we can usually staff same day or next day for urgent needs, capacity permitting.

Do you cover firewatch during hot work permits?

Yes. Firewatch is one of our flagship services. NFPA compliant officers, time and location stamped patrol logs, AHJ ready documentation. Learn more about our firewatch service.

How do you handle multiple subcontractors on site?

Our officer maintains a check in log of who is on site, when they arrived, and when they left. We coordinate with the GC's superintendent on access lists and after hours rules. It is a meaningful layer of accountability for projects with high subcontractor turnover.
