Armed Security Officer

First Class Security is hiring Tennessee licensed armed security officers for commercial, industrial and residential properties across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Full time and part time schedules are available across all three shifts. Armed posts carry more responsibility and more judgment, and we staff them with officers who understand that the firearm is the last tool on the belt, not the first.

What you will do

• Hold an armed post at a commercial, industrial or residential property and maintain a visible, professional presence
• Control access, verify credentials, and patrol the property on a regular schedule
• Monitor surveillance cameras and building systems and respond to alarms by assessing the situation and following post orders
• Address trespassing, theft and suspicious activity within post authority, de escalate first, and escalate to your supervisor and to authorities when required
• Assist tenants, residents and guests with courtesy
• Write clear, factual daily activity reports and incident reports
• Follow all company, client, firearms and privacy guidelines

What you need

• 21 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Current Tennessee armed security guard license in good standing. This license is required at the time of hire.
• At least one year of security, military or law enforcement experience
• Your own duty weapon and duty belt that meet Tennessee requirements for armed security officers
• Reliable transportation to posts across Middle Tennessee
• Strong observation skills, clear written and spoken communication, and a calm manner under pressure
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Pay and benefits

• $19 to $23 per hour depending on post and experience
• Weekly pay by direct deposit
• Paid internal training and site specific post orientation
• Uniform provided
• A Middle Tennessee supervisor who visits your post, and a real path to supervisor, dispatch and account management roles
