Failure to do so can result in steep penalties for both you and your employer. Outlined below are the required steps for gaining your license. At First Class Security we are happy to work with all candidates to properly obtain their license. Determine Your Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p>The State of Tennessee requires all of the following conditions to be met.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-10\">\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Must be a citizen of the United States or a resident alien<\/li>\n<li>Must be of good moral character<\/li>\n<li>Must meet the training requirements<\/li>\n<li>Can <b>not<\/b> have any conviction of the following crimes and shall disqualify an applicant\n<ul>\n<li>Any Felony; or<\/li>\n<li>Any misdemeanor involving:\n<ul>\n<li>Shooting a firearm or other weapon<\/li>\n<li>Shoplifting<\/li>\n<li>Assault and battery or other act of violence against persons or property<\/li>\n<li>Crimes involving the sale, manufacture or distribution of controlled substances, controlled substance analogues, drugs or narcotics<\/li>\n<li>Theft of property<\/li>\n<li>Theft of services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Must not be suffering from habitual drunkenness or narcotics addiction or dependence<\/li>\n<li>Must not have any disability that, in the opinion of the commissioner, prevents the applicant from performing the duties of a security guard\/officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"second\" class=\"mb-sm\">2. Training and Testing<\/h2>\n<p>One of the main requirements to obtain a license is completing a state certified training (4hr minimum) course and obtaining a passing grade. If you have been hired by First Class Security, we will register you with one of our preferred vendors. Upon successful completion of the course any <a href=\"https:\/\/securityguardnashville.com\/labor\/securityguards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quality vendor<\/a> should be able to provide you with the following:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-10\">\n<ul>\n<li>1 &#8211; Certificate of successful completion of guard training<\/li>\n<li>3 &#8211; 1\u201dx1\u201d color passport-style photos with your name and Social Security Number printed on the back of each photo placed in a small envelope with your name<\/li>\n<li>1 &#8211; Notarized original and 1 copy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securityguardnashville.com\/files\/PPS_Unarmed_Guard_Initial_Application.pdf\">SECURITY GUARD\/OFFICER \u2013 APPLICATION<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To register for one of our internal classes, please click <a href=\"mailto:jon.haire@firstclasssecurity.us?Subject=Security%20Officer%20Training%20Registeration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a> to email and setup a training time. Cost for the training is $50.00 per unarmed class for all non FCS employees. If you are hired by FCS, the training class is provided for free.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"third\" class=\"mb-sm\">3. Your State Application<\/h2>\n<p>Your application must be filled out accurately and truthfully. Any discrepancies found could result in your application being denied and you would be required to start over with no refund.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-10\">\n<ul>\n<li>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.tn.gov\/licenses-app\/#~Private~Protective~Services~\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tn.gov <\/a>to create an account and apply online.
